Pint for A Pint
Jamesport Farm Brewery teams up with New York Blood Center for "Pint for a Pint" campaign this summer!
From August 1st – September 10th Jamesport Farm Brewery will be accepting vouchers from blood donors to redeem a pint of beer, cider, wine, or soft drink.
“We are so grateful to Jamesport Farm Brewery and all of our partner breweries and restaurants from across the region for stepping up to help us turnout blood donors during this critical time. This is the largest “Pint for Pint” campaign we’ve ever had and we hope that our donors will take the opportunity to support these generous local breweries,” said Andrea Cefarelli, Senior Vice President at New York Blood Center. “This summer, we urge New Yorkers to come out to support local businesses, cool off with a cold beverage and save a life by donating blood.”
The summer months are always a difficult time for the blood supply, as warm weather and vacation plans make donating blood less of priority. According to NYBC, the region’s blood supply currently stands at a 3–day level, which is well below the ideal level of 5-7-days. Each blood donation has the ability to save up to three lives.
NYBC is taking extra precautions to help prevent the person-to-person spread of COVID-19. As always, people are not eligible to donate if they’re experiencing a cold, sore throat, respiratory infection or flu-like symptoms. An appointment and a government issued I.D. are required to enter the stadium. Additional information on donor eligibility and COVID-19 precautions is available here.
To make an appointment at a blood drive near you, donors can call 1-800-933-2566 or visit nybc.org/donate-blood/pint-pint/.

BLUE MASQUES, ALUMNI & FRIENDS
Present a Summer Theater Production at Jamesport Farm Brewery.
“Between You & Me”, Directed by Laura Nitti
“Between You & Me” is performed by some of the current Riverhead High School Blue Masques theater group, Blue Masques Alumni and Friends. “Between You & Me” is a night of musical theater, dancing, singing and local musicians that explores the connections between us – the connections we make, we break and we live with. The production will showcase songs from contemporary favorites.
In keeping with the theme of community and connections, Riverhead musicians will be performing at each one of the shows. Following the theatrical production, August 2 will feature a performance by the Jay Shepard Band and on Wednesday Aug 3, will be a performance by Chloe Halpin, RHS alumni and Crystal Crepso, Riverhead MS Band Teacher, Riverhead HS Jazz Band teacher and Blue Masques Pit Director.
“Between You & Me” was created as a summer production to keep the connection between the students who are interested in theater year-round and to continue nurturing and growing that interest. While primarily comprised of Riverhead students, the cast does include some students from area school districts. Most of the kids have been performing together for years and there’s a connection that the director wanted not only to support but show the community the talent they have and give them an opportunity to perform outside the school setting. Jamesport Farm Brewery was chosen because it’s a unique venue, giving the cast an opportunity to perform in a different type of place while supporting our local businesses.
Director Laura Nitti states, “After losing a year for Covid, then having a wonderful year with Tenny Award winning performances, like A Bronx Tale and The SpongeBob Musical, the kids just weren’t done yet. They wanted to keep going. So we thought it would be fun to do a summer show and invite alumni and friends to perform.”
When asked why performing at a brewery instead of a traditional stage, Laura said “Because I wanted to do something cool and different. Anybody can perform on a stage but how often do you get to see theater in a beautiful farm setting? It’s a fun place to be in the summer and an exercise in challenging the cast to be creative.”
Even the casting supports the theme of the show that explores the connection between us.
Ayla Fideli, incoming Riverhead High School sophomore and dancer, said she’s glad to be doing the show “because it brings me close to my friends. ”
“I joined the show because I wanted to be able to do something fun and creative this summer with my friends. This show is so special because it allowed me to reflect on all of the connections I have made in my life and it made me realize how lucky I am to have them.” -- Kathleen Kelly, Center Moriches graduate.
Rose Green, who will be a RHS junior in the fall, stated “I wanted to be a part of this show because it gives me the opportunity to perform during the summer and spend time with friends”
Ashleigh Rubino, 2017 RHS graduate quoted “I wanted to be a part of the show because I love being able to perform with such a talented group of people! I love attending all their amazing performances at the high school and I’m always itching to get on stage with everyone! Being a part of this show is special because I get to perform with my little sister, Avery!”
“Between You & Me” the theatrical event of the summer, will be Aug 2 & 3, 6-9pm at Jamesport Farm Brewery. Tickets for all shows are on sale HERE or by contacting Amy Fideli at Amy@mainstreetagency.org. Beverages and food will be available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to North Fork Country Kids Animal Rescue.
